I am always immunised against Influenza, COVID, etc.

Unfortunately, a strain of Influenza not covered by this year’s Australian immunisation has got me in its grips.

Australia waits to see the most common strains in the USA, as their Influenza season is before ours, and creates the Flu Shots accordingly. Sometimes, we are the first to get a particular strain. If similar enough to the strains immunised against, people contracting the new strain will experience few, if any, symptoms. It is like new variations of COVID. You are better off having some protection than none if you contract a new variation.

In my case, due to having Narcolepsy, some variations of Influenza can be debilitating. They trigger Sleep Attacks and other Narcolepsy problems.

This triggering means I have shorter periods each day where I can write. This restriction has been delaying journal entries.

The following journal entry combines two entries, the same as the last one. That is why the previous one was so long.

There is a logical division, but I decided we are getting to the overall message the mod author wants to impart. I expect readers will want to reference some of the later conversations with earlier ones, and that is easier to do if they are included in a single entry.

So, please be patient as I finish the next entry, which I think will be the second last in Evermore.

Beyond Reach is a complex mod and some of the lore is sketchy. It is also based on the assumption that Skyrim’s Civil War is still occurring and that The Empire has lost respect. However, it has been an excellent base for exploring the motivations of Wulf, his friends, and some Daedric Princes. I have tried to distil the writing of the mod author, which is often artistic but hard to decipher, into plain English. I found my original take on the mod from years before to include excellent interpretations of the language used by Husk and Ambition. So, if some of it seems familiar, you probably read the first and second playthrough journal entries.

Interestingly, if I plug the mod’s wording into an AI program and ask it to simplify and explain, I get the same results as my unmuddied brain did years ago.

So…the next entry, a long one, will be up by the end of the week.

After the last entry involving Evermore, I need to set the stage for future entries that begin months after Wulf returns to Skyrim. That will probably require intermediate entries covering crucial events. However, I will only be summarising some major Skyrim quests, much as I did for the first entry of this set of journals.
